Hubba Hubba Smokehouse: BBQ in Flat Rock, N. C.
72
A North Carolina BBQ Lovers Eatery
That’s right, Hubba Hubba Smokehouse is the name of this restaurant located in the quaint village of Flat Rock, N. C., and the food is as good as it's location is eccentric.
Hubba Hubba is one of only a hand full of wood-fired smokehouses in North Carolina--the state that is preoccupied with two different BBQ styles of its very own. Western N.C. BBQ and Eastern N.C. BBQ are the features of the theater.
That alone gives you a heads up on the quality of their smoked meats, but add their homemade sauces and you know that owner Star Teel serves up some of the very best smokehouse fixens' that can be eaten.
Mr. Teel runs with the likes of BBQ legends Tommy Houston, Mike Mills, and Jim Tabb of Kansas City Barbecue Society fame, but his distinctive smokehouse meals at Hubba Hubba are stamped as stand outs.

The Rest of this Flat Rock NC BBQ Story
While taking care of business at Hubba Hubba, Star Teel also supports local youth organizations in Henderson county and is involved in BBQ competitions. Smoked food is a passion that he and his team have matured into a finely tuned obsession.
Your favorite BBQ meat has never been paired with better sauces or sides. Traditional sides prepared like you’ve never had them before, along with significantly delectable sauces mean your meal will be what you want yet more than you expect.
On top of the first-rate BBQ, you’ll find a surprising meal on Hubba Hubba Smokehouse’s menu this summer. On the weekends smoked Fish Tacos served with avocado slaw and salsa fresca sides are available if you just want something different for a change.
Dine in gets you the freshest meal, of course, but they offer to-go dinners, as well as catering for groups. Ambiance galore dances in every nook and cranny of their location, which is tucked behind the Cracked Egg’s artsy string of buildings on the old Greenville Highway.
Hubba Hubba's conscientious care of the environment means that they use the ECO Products' disposable cups and meal containers. Being green is easy when brands that make biodegradable dinner ware that is compostable are used for customers' meals.
A picture does indeed paint a thousand words so I’m including their website here. Check it and you'll see that I’m not making their name up just to get attention on HubPages. As well, take a look at my own photo montage of their location. I doubt you’ll ever find a more entertaining BBQ restaurant to enjoy with family or friends.
If you ever get to see the Smokies in the fall, or any other time of year for that matter, make sure you take the time to enjoy something from Hubba Hubba Smokehouse’s menu, even if it’s just one of their sliders.
Easy to get to, just outside Hendersonville, this BBQ is accompanied by a beautiful drive. Plan to spend some time in that area of the Blue Ridge Mountains and enjoy some good food.

Would You Travel to Flat Rock NC to Eat Great BBQ?Loading...
Great hub! Its made me want BBQ for lunch. I wish we have more of these kinds of places out here in California.
Sounds yummy to me and not a place to miss. Thanks for sharing...
This all sounds yummy and a place not to be missed..
I can not deny I would not pass up a fish taco... though sometimes its more about pulled pork BBQ sandwiches. You know that kind that require a change of shirt... lol
Every place that I move away from I miss something.
I truely miss St. Louis style BBQ.
I would like to try this too!
I always think it's fascinating to learn about the different techniques out there for BBQ. It sounds like a great place!

who doesn't love BBQ and smoked meats, the smoked Fish Tacos served with avocado slaw and salsa fresca sides looks real great. Thanks for sharing!
I can't believe that I chose to read this hub! My kids, when they were teenagers, stayed with their dad in Hendersonville during the summers. He was a chef at the Woodfield Inn and they waited tables for him. And speaking of smokehouses, my mom's stone smokehouse is still standing on their property; it was built in 1869. There's a stone plaque over the door. I just put a picture of the house in my hub, "Today is My Mother's Birthday" if you want to see it. My daughter just bought a printer/scanner and this is one of the photos she had. I had to crop it, but it doesn't look too bad. The first picture, of mom and my daughter, the house was in the process of being painted. It's the best one I had with mom in it. I enjoyed your hub, R. I love barbeque and hope to visit the Hubba Hubba Smokehouse someday!
You're welcome. Yes, you did read it and left a comment saying you would like to see photos of my mom's home. Yes, I will read your hub about the season's in Flat Rock, but you're going to make me homesick for the gorgeous Fall weather!
